Tax or green nudge? An experimental analysis of pesticide policies in Germany

چکیده
Abstract We use a business management game to investigate how pesticide tax and green nudge affect crop, tillage decisions for virtual farm. Results from German farmers reveal that both policies can reduce applications. The involves substantial profit loss. Unlike in the scenario, participants under adjust their cropping strategies. compare farmers’ those made by mathematical programming model. Assuming maximisation would overestimate response underestimate effectiveness of nudge.
